Selection procedures for Long Island Region Empire State Games Team are as follows: 

I think this will give all rowers a fair chance at making the team.  It is based on USRowing's selection process.

Small boats (1x, 2x) will be selected through trials, with the winner of each being named to the Empire State Games Team.  Should the 1st place finisher decline the spot, the 2nd place finisher will be selected, and so on.

The 8+ will be selected through a combined camp/trials method.  Selection races will be held for the 4x and 4+.  The fastest 4x and 4+ will be put together as a combination boat and will act as camp boat.  This camp boat can then be challenged at trials in the 8+.  The winner of the 8+ race will be named to the Empire State Games team. 

2 additional rowers will be selected from the 2nd place finishers. 

Races are 2000 meters.

Race schedule will be as follows:

Coaches Meeting 3:00pm

Womens     4x 3:40pm

Mens 4+ 3:50pm

Womens     2x 4:00pm

Mens          2x 4:10pm

Mens          4x 4:20pm

Womens 4+ 4:30pm

Womens     1x 4:40pm

Mens          1x 4:50pm

break

Mens 8+ 5:30pm
Womens 8+  5:40pm

I think this provides sufficient time between events to allow sharing of boats and for recovery from the 4x and 4+ races to race the 8+.
